Lake George, The Queen of American Lakes

If you plan to visit or are near the east coast Lake George is a great place to explore! Dubbed the Queen of American Lakes, Lake George is located in New York State with beautiful views of the Adirondacks and spanning 32 miles of clean water. In 2018, this natural beauty was voted a top 10 place to visit in the USA by Time Magazine. A visit in the Spring or Summer can entail water sports, boat rides, swimming, as well as some much deserved relaxing as you soak up the sun. This destination is great for
lovers of nature, especially in the cooler months. In the Fall you can hike in the crisp air while enjoying the beautiful foliage and the Winter brings fun sports in addition to the beauty of snow-capped mountains. While my husband has been visiting Lake George with his family since he was a small boy, he shared it with me over 20 years ago. I instantly fell in love and the beauty takes my breath away each time I visit. Trips to Lake George helps me find my peace and relaxation. There are so many options when it comes to lodging. If you are looking for a rustic lakefront resort or prefer something more modern, the options are endless. This
wide range of choices can fit every budget and every family size. A great perk for my family is that it is only about a 4 hour drive. We swim for hours in the lake, enjoying watching the boats go by and admiring the mountains in the background on our summer vacations. We also enjoy taking a boat ride in Lake George Village where you can get a tour of the lake and learn some history. My family enjoys kayaking, hiking Prospect Mountain, and renting a boat (which is worth every penny). You can explore the lake on your own and enjoy water sports from the boat, in addition to some family friendly night life. In the evenings we like to walk the village of Lake George and listen to live music, visit all the little shops, and grab a bite to eat before having fun in the arcades. For the last 15 years, we have continued the family tradition of vacationing in Lake George, even if it is for a long weekend. Four kids later and they love Lake George as much as my husband and I do.If you ever have a chance to visit the east coast, consider Lake George as a place to visit. You won’t be disappointed!
